Role Overview
QC Inspector - Equipment (Tank) at Samsung E&A. The position is based on-site for projects from start to completion.

Role Purpose
Perform quality control and inspection activities in accordance with established quality management systems, ensuring all work conforms to quality requirements, international codes and standards, and project specifications across mechanical discipline with specialized focus on tank equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Inspection Planning & Control
- Establish inspection and test plans and record forms according to project requirements and international codes and standards.
- Set and apply practical inspection processes for the discipline based on project requirements and international codes, providing ITP and managing inspection matrix.
- Ensure inspection status is controlled through efficient tools such as inspection matrix.
- Generate client Requests For Inspection (RFI) providing sufficient notice for hold, witness and inspection points.
- Review and track material submittals required for Mechanical Definable Features of Work prior to Preparatory Meetings.
Quality Documentation & Approval
- Prepare and review Quality procedure documents submitted by Subcontractors such as Inspection Test Plan (ITP) and Material Approval Request (MAR).
- Prepare, review and approve related inspection reports where inspection results are recorded.
- Investigate and analyze nonconformities and observations and determine solutions.
- Control NCRs to be closed out within the due date and support preparation of Corrective Action Plan.
- Ensure lessons learnt are applied and proper preventive action is conducted.
Mechanical Inspection & Testing
- Carry out inspections on discipline responsible to determine whether work performed conforms to quality requirements and record results.
- Manage and perform inspection of Mechanical discipline.
- Monitor and inspect specific Mechanical related activities such as site erection of static and rotating equipment.
- Ensure critical mechanical activities such as rotating equipment flange parallelism, final alignment and final inspection are conducted as per Contract, Specification and Requirements.
- Inspect incoming material deliveries by confirming specifications and compliance with approved submittals, conduct visual and measurement tests in conjunction with the onsite logistics team.
- Reject and facilitate the return of unacceptable materials.
Tank-Specific Activities
- Apply tank engineering principles and practices.
- Implement tank codes and standards such as API 650 and API 653.
- Understand tank drawings and specifications.
- Execute quality control and inspection techniques for tank systems.
Stakeholder & Client Management
- Perform and coordinate inspection with client.
- Conduct Preparatory Meetings with Subcontractors related to Mechanical Definable Features of Work.
- Control quality violations through regular tool box talk with the construction team.
- Carry out QC Supervisor's responsibility in their absence.
Project Lifecycle Support
- Support ITP Study, Prevention and solving inconsistency, Pre-Inspection, RFI Management, Punch Clear Management and Punch Clear Implementation.
- Support Construction Completion, Pre-commissioning Activities, Plant Start-Up, Operation, Maintenance and Final Handover.
Qualifications & Experience
- Hold a Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Tank Inspector certification such as API 653.
- Technical knowledge and familiarity with related international codes and standards in particular discipline.
- Experience planning and controlling inspections for medium scale projects (0.5β1.5 billion dollar range).
