Role Overview
QC Inspector at Nova Construction, a UAE-based general contracting company specializing in branded residences, located on active project sites.

Role Purpose
Perform quality inspections and testing for all civil, structural, and finishing works on active project sites to ensure full compliance with drawings, project specifications, method statements, ITPs, and local authority requirements. Maintain construction quality standards, prevent rework, and support the QA/QC team with documentation, coordination, and compliance activities.
Key Responsibilities
Civil & Structural Works Inspection
- Inspect formwork, reinforcement, concrete pouring, curing, and dimensional accuracy
- Monitor blockwork, plastering, screed, waterproofing, backfilling, compaction, and related works
- Verify materials and workmanship comply with approved MIRs, ITPs, and specifications
- Ensure alignment, levels, and tolerances match approved drawings
Architectural & Finishing Works Inspection
- Inspect finishing activities including tiling, marble/granite installation, gypsum works, joinery, doors, painting, metal works, and decorative elements
- Conduct mock-up inspections before full execution
- Verify finishing quality, levels, plumbness, alignment, and aesthetic standards
Material Verification & Testing
- Coordinate with third-party laboratories for concrete, soil, and material tests
- Review test results for compliance with ASTM/BS standards
- Raise immediate notifications for any failed tests
Documentation & Quality Records
- Prepare and submit IRs/RFIs for civil and finishing works as per ITP
- Maintain logs for inspection requests, MIRs, NCRs, test results, and site quality documents
- Ensure proper filing and traceability of QA/QC documentation
Non-Conformance & Corrective Actions
- Identify non-conforming work or materials and escalate to line manager
- Coordinate with site supervisors to implement corrective actions
- Verify rectification and support closure of NCRs
Coordination & Communication
- Liaise with consultants and client representatives for inspections
- Coordinate closely with site engineers, foremen, and subcontractors
- Attend QA/QC and site coordination meetings
- Support pre-handover inspections and punch list closure
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or equivalent
- 7+ years of QA/QC experience covering civil and finishing works
- Strong understanding of civil and architectural construction standards
- Experience working with UAE consultants and QA/QC processes
- Ability to clearly read and interpret drawings and specifications
Skills & Competencies
- High attention to detail and commitment to workmanship quality
- Strong communication and inspection reporting skills
- Ability to work independently and manage inspection workloads
- Familiarity with QA/QC documentation, ITPs, and testing procedures
- Ability to manage multiple trades on fast-paced projects
