QA QC ENGINEER - Marine/Civil

QA/QC Engineer – Marine/Civil with Egis Group (Waagner Biro Bridge Services), based in Dubai, UAE.

Role Purpose

Implement and monitor approved quality plans, inspection and test procedures, and QA/QC protocols for marine construction works. Conduct comprehensive inspections and quality control across all marine structures and systems from fabrication through installation, ensuring compliance with specifications and applicable standards.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Planning and Procedures

• Implement and monitor the approved Project Quality Plan, ITPs, Method Statements, and QA/QC procedures for marine construction works.

Marine Structures Inspection

• Conduct all inspection and quality control of pontoon, floating structures, jetties, walkways, pile foundations, and marine access structures.
• Inspect reinforcement, formwork, embedded items, concrete pouring, curing, and repair works for marine structures.
• Conduct inspections for walkway and jetty installation, including decking, supports, connections, levels, alignment, and finishing works.

Pile Installation Monitoring

• Monitor pile installation, alignment, verticality, driving records, pile integrity testing, and load testing as per approved specifications.

Steel Structures and Systems

• Verify fabrication and installation of steel structures, handrails, brackets, connections, welding, bolting, and protective coating systems.

Testing and Quality Assurance

• Coordinate and witness required material inspections, laboratory tests, concrete cube tests, welding/NDT tests, and other quality tests.
• Review Material Submittals, MTCs, test certificates, calibration certificates, inspection reports, and as-built quality records for compliance.

Non-Conformance and Documentation

• Raise, monitor, and close NCRs, observations, RFIs, inspection requests, and corrective/preventive actions in coordination with the construction team.

Stakeholder Coordination

• Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, surveyors, and site teams to ensure marine works are executed safely and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and applicable standards.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in QA/QC for marine or civil construction.
• ISO 9001 relevant quality certification.

Additional Information

• Driving license required with own vehicle.
