Pump Quality & HSE Engineer (Yanbu QRC)

Role Overview

Pump Quality & HSE Engineer at Flowserve, Yanbu QRC. This is a hands-on individual contributor role reporting directly to the Quality Manager.

Role Purpose

Support and coordinate quality assurance, inspection, health, safety, and environmental activities within the Pump QRC. Ensure compliance with applicable drawings, procedures, specifications, statutory requirements, customer requirements, and internal standards while promoting a safe work environment and adherence to HSE practices.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance & Inspection

• Perform and support documented inspections to verify conformance of parts, repairs, and assemblies to applicable drawings, procedures, specifications, and statutory/regulatory requirements.
• Support the Inspection Test Plan (ITP) and project quality plan in line with customer and Flowserve requirements.
• Perform dimensional, visual, painting, and welding inspections according to applicable procedures and acceptance criteria.
• Prepare test and inspection requirements for assigned projects, including ITPs and procurement specifications.
• Maintain accurate records, inspection reports, quality logs, and release documentation.

Quality Documentation & Control

• Define, coordinate, and control project quality documentation required for repairs, inspections, and final release.
• Review and approve supplier manufacturing and testing documents and support customer and third-party inspection approvals when required.
• Review and verify supplier, welder, and NDE personnel qualifications and ensure compliance with required standards.
• Document non-conforming material and support NCR processing and resolution.

Compliance & Continuous Improvement

• Ensure adherence to relevant quality standards, laws, regulations, and customer-specific requirements.
• Support internal quality audits, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities.
• Support operational excellence initiatives and high levels of customer service.

HSE Implementation & Monitoring

• Support the implementation of site HSE procedures and safe work practices within the Pump QRC.
• Promote compliance with HSE policies, permit-to-work requirements, and risk control measures.
• Monitor work areas for unsafe conditions and unsafe behaviors and support corrective actions.
• Ensure contractors and employees follow required safety requirements, including PPE, housekeeping, lifting safety, and equipment safety.

HSE Engagement & Culture

• Participate in hazard identification, risk assessments, toolbox talks, and safety awareness activities.
• Encourage a strong safety culture through coaching, communication, and daily field presence.
• Support incident reporting, investigation, and follow-up actions.
• Assist in environmental and safety compliance activities as required by site procedures and regulations.

Qualifications & Experience

• B.Sc. in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 7 years of relevant experience in pump OEM, repair, or rotating equipment environment.
• Thorough experience and understanding of machining, assembly, and test operations for pumps and associated accessories.
• Thorough experience working in a repair/QRC or manufacturing environment (mandatory).
• Direct experience in Pump's OEM/QRC field (mandatory).
• Strong knowledge of quality systems, inspection methods, welding, NDE, and related standards.
• Thorough knowledge of API 610 and API 682.
• Knowledge of site HSE practices, hazard identification, and industrial safety requirements.
• Awareness of HSE requirements for industrial workshop and field environments.
• Familiarity with permit-to-work, risk assessment, PPE, lifting safety, and safe equipment handling.
• Knowledge of the established quality standards, laws and regulations of national and international standards.

Additional Information

Required Certifications

• Certified internal/Lead Auditor 9001:2015 (mandatory).
• Safety-related certification or formal HSE training (mandatory).

Preferred Certifications

• Certified internal/Lead Auditor 14001 (preferable).
• Certified internal/Lead Auditor 45001 (preferable).
• Certification in Welding inspection, such as AWS CWI or CSWIP 3.1 (preferable).
• Certification in Painting inspection, such as NACE Level II, SSPC Level II or equivalent (preferable).
