Role Overview
Propulsion Engineer at Etihad Airways, Abu Dhabi. Responsible for compliance with all GCAA CAR-M and CAP-Ops 1 requirements in connection with Etihad aircraft engines (TRENT 7000, TRENT XWB-97, V2500, LEAP-1A, GE90, GEnx and GP7200 as applicable) to maintain continued airworthiness.

Role Purpose
Provide technical engineering support across all propulsion systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, maintain fleet airworthiness, and optimize the cost-effective operation and maintenance of Etihad's engine and APU portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support & Guidance
- Provide technical support to Maintenance, Technical Contracts, Warranty, and Planning departments in relation to propulsion issues.
- Provide troubleshooting assistance to Maintenance Control Centre (MCC) when required.
- Issue and revise in-house publications including Technical Notices and Publication amendments (TPA).
Safety & Culture
- Encourage colleagues and actively participate in promotion of a positive reporting culture by reporting unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and safety risks.
Airworthiness & Compliance
- Assess engine and component Airworthiness Directives and Service Bulletins.
- Issue associated Document Assessment Reports (DARs), Engineering Orders, and fleet campaigns.
- Ensure cost-effective engineering technical support to the operation and maintenance of the Etihad Engine and APU fleet.
Program & Vendor Management
- Support the Lead Engineer in providing program management of outsourced maintenance and engineering activities.
- Liaise with Engine and APU component OEMs and maintenance providers.
- Assist the Lead Engineer in managing engine and component modification standards, specifications, and implementation.
- Assist with the management of Engine and APU removal program and shop visits.
- Review and approve engine workscopes and deviations.
- Assist with lease engines induction and return.
Monitoring & Reliability
- Review Engine Health Monitoring reports and notifications from OEMs.
- Issue required maintenance instructions to address anomalies.
- Support the investigation of in-service events, delays, and technical problems.
- Implement corrective action programs to improve engine and related component reliability.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering, or ICAO Type 11 AMEL with Type rating.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in aircraft engines or APU fleet management.
