Role Overview
Project Manager at HILL International. The position manages the development, implementation, and delivery of large-scale infrastructure and city development projects.
Role Purpose
To lead the planning, execution, and control of complex projects from inception through completion, ensuring delivery on time, within scope and budget, while maintaining safety, quality, and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Strategy
- Develop project scopes and objectives in consultation with all relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure technical feasibility of project plans.
- Manage the development and implementation of project plans, schedules, budgets, and objectives.
Risk & Change Management
- Analyze project risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs.
- Manage changes to the project scope, schedule, and costs.
- Identify and resolve project issues.
Resource Management
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
- Ensure resource availability and allocation.
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
Monitoring & Control
- Monitor and control project progress and performance.
- Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques.
- Monitor project costs and ensure cost efficiency.
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
Compliance & Quality
- Ensure compliance with project safety and quality standards.
- Inform yourself of the relevant Quality, Environmental, Safety and Occupational Health Policies, Manuals and Procedures in place within HILL International.
- Ensure continued compliance with these requirements while employed by HILL.
- Implement a zero accident philosophy.
Stakeholder Management & Coordination
- Coordinate with stakeholders and team members to ensure project objectives are met.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
Reporting
- Report and escalate to management as needed.
- Provide regular reports on project progress and performance.
General
- Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager/supervisor.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in large-scale infrastructure or city development projects.
- Extensive experience in the project management of water and wastewater works.
- Experience of major government and/or semi-government program and project implementations.
- A record of engagement with government entities and utility providers.
- Proven track record of successful project management.

- Knowledge of professional project management processes and procedures.
- Knowledge of project management software and tools.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
