Project Engineer

Role Overview

Project Engineer at Flowserve. This role develops new products, technologies, and customer-specific solutions while coordinating daily local order fulfillment activities on assigned projects.

Role Purpose

To serve as the single point of contact for customers on assigned projects, managing schedule, costs, risks, and deliverables while ensuring project specifications are understood and complied with throughout execution.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Coordination

• Act as single point of contact for customers.
• Proactively monitor project schedule, costs, risks, and deliverables; develop contingency plans as necessary.
• Establish project schedule and monitor project margin erosion.
• Ensure financial milestones during the course of the project are met in a timely manner.
• Coordinate and participate in contractor site visits and arrange contractor quotes as required.
• Coordinate daily local order fulfillment activities on assigned projects.

Communication & Compliance

• Communicate with customers in a timely, professional, clear manner.
• Ensure project specifications are understood and being complied with during the course of the project.
• Communicate and interact effectively with all levels of employees, customers, and business groups globally.

Engineering & Design Support

• Develop new products, technologies, and customer-specific solutions.
• Provide quotation support.
• Perform routine engineering analysis.
• Complete detailed layout and mechanical design work.
• Support shipping documentation as necessary.

Operations Support

• Provide operations support as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in pump package execution.
• Strong knowledge in pumps.
• Industrial experience in development and design.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
• Proficiency in CAD software: SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor.
• Knowledge of ANSYS (CFD, FEA) is a plus.
• Understanding of engineering documentation, drafting, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
• Effective verbal and written communications.
• Collaborative team player and self-starter capable of working under minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement processes is a plus.
• Relevant experience with SAP/ERP system is preferable.
