Role Overview

Procurement Assistant at Six Construct, a subsidiary of the BESIX Group, based in the Middle East.

Role Purpose

As a Procurement Assistant, you ensure projects and operations have the materials and services required when needed and at optimal value. Your work directly supports project delivery by maintaining a reliable supply chain, optimizing costs, ensuring compliance with company procedures, and building strong supplier relationships. Through proactive coordination and effective procurement practices, you drive operational efficiency and contribute to overall business success.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Process Management

  • Manage the procurement process for general materials and services by obtaining quotations, negotiating commercial terms, preparing bid analyses, and issuing purchase orders.
  • Leverage knowledge of civil materials and project procurement requirements to support project teams effectively.

Supplier & Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers while collaborating closely with requisition owners and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Monitor and follow up on open purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and resolution of any supply issues.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure full compliance with company procurement policies, procedures, and governance requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and organized procurement documentation throughout the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) cycle.

Continuous Improvement

  • Support continuous improvement in procurement performance through efficient supplier management and cost-conscious purchasing decisions.
  • Take on additional procurement-related responsibilities as assigned by the Procurement Manager.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous experience in procurement within the civil construction industry and strong understanding of civil materials and services.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and procurement-related software.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Good negotiation, coordination, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
