Principal - Transport Planning & Mobility

Role Overview

Principal - Transport Planning & Mobility at WSP Middle East, based in the Riyadh region. You will lead and manage a team of transport planners and mobility designers, delivering innovative and sustainable transport solutions for clients.

Role Purpose

To oversee the entire project lifecycle of transport planning initiatives from concept development through final delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards while maintaining alignment with client requirements and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery & Oversight

• Oversee the planning, design, and implementation of transport projects, ensuring alignment with client requirements and industry best practices.
• Manage project budgets, resources, and timelines, ensuring efficient and effective project delivery.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Analysis & Planning

• Conduct comprehensive transport studies, analyses, and assessments to inform project planning and decision-making.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements and trends in transport planning and mobility design, incorporating innovative approaches into projects.

Stakeholder & Client Management

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and government authorities to ensure project success and compliance with regulations.
• Prepare and present proposals, reports, and presentations to clients, highlighting the benefits and value of transport planning solutions.

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead and mentor a diverse team of transport planning professionals.
• Provide technical expertise and support to the team, offering guidance on complex transport planning issues.

External Representation

• Represent WSP at industry events, conferences, and workshops, promoting transport planning capabilities and expertise.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transport Planning, or a related field required; master's degree preferred.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in transport planning, mobility design, and project management.
• Proven track record of successful project delivery.
• Experience working with government authorities and stakeholders in the Riyadh region is highly advantageous.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel within the region as required for project work.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong leadership and management skills with ability to lead and mentor diverse teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Proficiency in transport planning software and tools, including AutoCAD, MicroStation, and transport modeling software.
• Deep understanding of transport planning principles, mobility design concepts, and sustainable transport solutions.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving with commitment to delivering high-quality transport planning solutions.
