Role Overview

Principal Engineer – Audio Visual Systems (AV) at WSP Middle East, based in the UAE. This role leads the design and delivery of innovative audiovisual and integrated technology solutions across prestigious projects in the Middle East, working within the Building Technology Systems team.

Role Purpose

To lead the design and delivery of creative and technical audiovisual solutions that shape immersive environments and integrated technology systems across major building and infrastructure projects in the Middle East region.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Delivery

• Lead the design and delivery of creative and technical AV solutions across major projects.
• Develop immersive audiovisual experiences for museums, visitor centres, themed attractions, cultural venues, and mixed-use developments.
• Design and integrate projection mapping, interactive displays, multi-sensory environments, and show control systems.

Systems Integration

• Deliver AV systems integrated with ICT, smart building technologies, lighting controls, and BMS platforms.
• Design active network infrastructure, wireless systems, structured cabling, and unified communications solutions.

Technical Leadership & Quality

• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and quality assurance across project teams.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Engage directly with clients, stakeholders, architects, and multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout project lifecycles.
• Support business growth by contributing technical expertise to bids, proposals, and client presentations.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 12 or more years of experience in AV, ICT, and technology systems design on large-scale building or infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience leading the design and delivery of Creative AV solutions for museums, cultural destinations, immersive experiences, visitor centres, themed entertainment, or large-scale mixed-use developments.
• Strong client-facing experience with the ability to lead multidisciplinary coordination, manage stakeholder engagement, and provide technical leadership across complex projects.
