Role Overview
AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Principal Dry Utilities Engineer to join its Infrastructure Business in the Abu Dhabi office. The role supports infrastructure multi-disciplinary projects for clients in the GCC, including planning, designing, and engineering of dry utilities networks comprising power (MV/LV), substations, renewable energy resources, street lighting, telecommunication, and ELV systems.

Role Purpose
The Principal Dry Utilities Engineer provides technical leadership and expertise on large multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects throughout their lifecycle, from tender to delivery, while building client relationships, motivating teams, and ensuring compliance with Health & Safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Technical Support
- Deliver technical support on large multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects.
- Provide technical expertise on a variety of large engineering projects.
- Support designs and budgets and drive projects from tender to delivery in a multi-disciplinary environment.
Bidding & Business Development
- Support single and multi-disciplinary discipline bids with a clear focus on what is needed to win.
- Continue to build relationships with existing clients, securing repeat business and identifying additional business opportunities.
- Increase your networking profile with both internal and external clients.
Leadership & Team Development
- Build and motivate a team and demonstrate good leadership qualities.
- Assist in developing a highly motivated and performing team creating opportunities for the development of individuals.
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and ensure that a good Health & Safety culture is engendered within the team.
- Report on project performance.
Qualifications & Experience
- B.Tech or M.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in a similar role or on comparable projects.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong technical writing and communications skills.
- Ability to process paper and electronic documents and utilize computer equipment.
- Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.
- Ability to assemble and analyze data.
- Ability to visit project sites if necessary.
- Experience and familiarity with the following programs is a plus: ArcGIS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Dialux Software, Revit/BIM.
