Role Purpose

Lead the design, engineering, and execution of HVAC systems for oil & gas facilities, ensuring compliance with ADNOC standards, international codes, and project specifications. Deliver safe, reliable, and energy-efficient HVAC solutions across all project phases.

Key Responsibilities

HVAC System Design

• Lead HVAC system design for control rooms, substations, telecom shelters, and buildings.
• Lead HVAC system design for hazardous area ventilation systems.
• Lead HVAC system design for pressurization and smoke management systems.
• Perform heat load calculations using HAP/Carrier software or equivalent.
• Perform equipment sizing and selection for chillers, AHUs, FCUs, and exhaust systems.

Engineering Deliverables

• Develop and review HVAC layouts, ducting drawings, and schematics.
• Develop and review material requisitions and technical bid evaluations.
• Ensure HVAC systems meet hazardous area classification requirements.
• Ensure HVAC systems meet fire & gas system integration requirements.
• Manage engineering deliverables, schedules, and manpower.

Compliance & Standards

• Ensure compliance with ADNOC engineering standards.
• Ensure compliance with international codes: ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, and ISO.
• Promote HSE policies aligned with ADNOC guidelines.
• Familiar with SHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, and DW144 standards.
• Familiar with ADNOC specifications and procedures.
• Familiar with explosion-proof HVAC systems and redundancy and reliability design philosophy.

Coordination & Collaboration

• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams: Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Civil.
• Interface with client representatives including the ADNOC PMC team.
• Review vendor documents and approve HVAC equipment submittals.
• Support procurement and ensure timely material delivery.
• Participate in HAZOP and HAZID studies.
• Participate in design reviews and safety audits.

Team Leadership & Mentoring

• Lead and mentor HVAC engineers and designers.
• Ensure quality assurance and control of HVAC deliverables.

Installation, Testing & Commissioning

• Provide technical support during installation.
• Provide technical support during testing and commissioning.
• Oversee HVAC system pre-commissioning and commissioning.
• Validate performance testing: Testing, Adjusting & Balancing (TAB).
• Resolve site technical issues and ensure design integrity.

Documentation

• Ensure development of as-built drawings.
• Ensure development of O&M manuals.
• Ensure development of commissioning reports.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in HVAC Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Lead Engineer.
• Experienced in mega ADNOC Oil processing EPC/EPCm projects.

Skills & Competencies

• Experience with HAP/Carrier software.
• Experience with AutoCAD software.
• Experience with Revit software.
• Knowledge of ASHRAE standards.
• Knowledge of SMACNA standards.
• Knowledge of NFPA standards.
• Knowledge of ISO standards.
• Knowledge of DW144 standards.
• Knowledge of ADNOC specifications and procedures.
• Knowledge of explosion-proof HVAC systems.
• Knowledge of redundancy and reliability design philosophy.
