PMC Quantity Surveyor

Role Overview

Wood PLC is recruiting an experienced PMC Quantity Surveyor (Site) for the Construction team within the Oil, Gas & New Energies business. The position is full-time, onshore, and site-based in Ruwais, United Arab Emirates.

Role Purpose

The PMC Quantity Surveyor leads all site survey activities to support construction, installation, and engineering operations on complex energy projects. The role ensures accurate data collection, coordination across technical teams, and compliance with design and project specifications to enable safe and predictable project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Survey Planning and Execution

• Plan and execute all site survey activities to support construction, installation, and engineering operations.
• Conduct topographic, geodetic, and as-built surveys, ensuring precision and compliance with project specifications.
• Establish and maintain survey control points, benchmarks, and reference grids for accurate layout and alignment of pipelines, structures, and equipment.

Team Leadership and Development

• Lead and supervise the survey team, ensuring proper task allocation, performance monitoring, and adherence to project timelines.
• Train and mentor junior surveyors, fostering skill development and adherence to best practices.

Data Quality and Documentation

• Review and validate survey data, ensuring accuracy before submission to project stakeholders.
• Prepare and maintain detailed survey reports, drawings, and documentation, ensuring traceability and compliance.

Instrument Management

• Ensure proper calibration, maintenance, and use of surveying instruments, including GPS, Total Stations, and Laser Scanners.

Coordination and Stakeholder Engagement

• Coordinate with engineering, construction, and QA/QC teams to ensure survey data supports design and execution requirements.
• Support construction teams by providing accurate layout and elevation data for civil, structural, and pipeline works.
• Liaise with contractors, consultants, and client representatives to address survey-related queries and provide technical support.

Site Quality Assurance

• Monitor and resolve discrepancies between design drawings and actual site conditions.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards during all survey operations and promote safe work practices within the team.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field.
• Over 15 years of experience in the oil and gas sector, particularly with ADNOC projects.
• Professional qualifications such as MRICS or equivalent.
• Relevant certifications such as AACE International.
• Experience in EPC and gas processing projects.

Skills & Competencies

• Expertise with GPS, Total Stations, and Laser Scanners.
• Proficiency in topographic, geodetic, and as-built survey methodologies.
• Strong project management and team leadership capabilities.
• Technical knowledge of civil, structural, and pipeline works.
