PMC Lead Rotating Engineer

Role Overview

PMC Lead Rotating Engineer at Wood PLC. This role leads and coordinates engineering teams to ensure successful planning, execution, and completion of technical projects for high-profile energy clients.

Role Purpose

Provide technical expertise in mechanical rotating equipment design, ensure design and engineering compliance with relevant codes and ADNOC standards, and coordinate rotating equipment design and engineering with the EPC Contractor to complete projects within the agreed timeframe while maintaining quality discipline engineering execution and integrity.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Design

• Provide technical expertise in all mechanical rotating equipment design.
• Ensure integration of overall Mechanical Rotating Engineering and overall coordination within IPMT Mechanical Rotating Engineering Team.
• Ensure quality and accuracy of Engineering Consultant's and EPC Contractor's Mechanical Rotating Engineering design activities.
• Participate in teams for equipment sizing and equipment selection considering optimization and standardization.
• Coordinate the required engineering participation in the development and analysis of various design options and business models.
• Contribute input and expertise in the development and analysis of various design options and business models to design optimization and validation.

Compliance & Standards

• Ensure design and engineering compliance with relevant codes and ADNOC standards.
• Review and approval of Engineering Consultant's and EPC Contractor's work and ensure compliance with ADNOC project specifications, relevant codes and standards, and best industry practices.
• Ensure that facilities are designed in accordance with the latest corporate guidelines with respect to environment and health aspects.

Project Coordination & Monitoring

• Coordinate, monitor, and handle rotating equipment design and engineering with EPC Contractor as per project expectation and complete the same within the timeframe.
• Participate in layout reviews, model review, design reviews, and technical workshops.
• Coordinate technical reviews and bid evaluation, and performance evaluation.
• Ensure full utilization of existing facilities while optimizing facilities required for new projects.

Quality & Technical Review

• Perform regular and timely technical reviews of Mechanical Rotating Engineering deliverables developed by engineering consultants and contractors, ensuring design quality in compliance with relevant codes, standards, and best practices.

Stakeholder & Discipline Coordination

• Work with other discipline engineers within IPMT, EPC Contractor, ADNOC Engineering, Operation, and Site Interface to resolve technical issues and ensure quality Discipline Engineering execution and integrity.
• Provide technical assistance and coordination with other discipline engineers.
• Provide technical assistance during installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning.
• Interface with Managers, Team Leaders, and Engineers in Company's Technical Departments, Business Units, Operations Units, and Logistics Department.
• Interface regularly with Contractor's Engineering and Project Management team and discipline engineers as required.

Reporting & Management

• Report to ADNOC Discipline Team Leader and Engineering Manager.
• Provide support to Project Managers and Engineers within the Project Management Team organization.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in oil and gas industry.
• Experience and detailed knowledge of relevant international codes and standards.

Skills & Competencies

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent technical team and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of engineering computer programs and general business software.
• Ability to make independent decisions in the planning, organizing, and coordinating to develop solutions to complex problems.
