Role Overview
PMC Lead HVAC Engineer at Wood PLC. This role leads the design, engineering, and execution of HVAC systems for oil & gas facilities, ensuring compliance with ADNOC standards, international codes, and project specifications across all project phases.

Role Purpose
Lead the design, engineering, and execution of HVAC systems for oil & gas facilities. Deliver safe, reliable, and energy-efficient HVAC solutions across all project phases while ensuring compliance with ADNOC standards, international codes, and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Engineering
- Lead HVAC system design for control rooms, substations, telecom shelters, and buildings.
- Lead HVAC system design for hazardous area ventilation systems.
- Lead HVAC system design for pressurization and smoke management systems.
- Perform heat load calculations using HAP/Carrier software or equivalent.
- Size and select HVAC equipment including chillers, air handling units, fan coil units, and exhaust systems.
- Develop HVAC layouts, ducting drawings, and schematics.
- Review HVAC layouts, ducting drawings, and schematics.
- Develop material requisitions and technical bid evaluations.
- Review material requisitions and technical bid evaluations.
Compliance & Standards
- Ensure HVAC systems comply with ADNOC engineering standards.
- Ensure HVAC systems comply with international codes including ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, and ISO.
- Ensure HVAC systems meet hazardous area classification requirements.
- Ensure HVAC systems meet fire & gas system integration requirements.
- Promote HSE policies aligned with ADNOC guidelines.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Civil disciplines.
- Review vendor documents and approve HVAC equipment submittals.
- Interface with client representatives on the ADNOC PMC team.
- Participate in HAZOP / HAZID studies.
- Participate in design reviews and safety audits.
Procurement & Installation Support
- Support procurement and ensure timely material delivery.
- Provide technical support during installation.
- Provide technical support during testing & commissioning.
- Resolve site technical issues and ensure design integrity.
Team Leadership & Management
- Lead and mentor HVAC engineers and designers.
- Manage engineering deliverables, schedules, and manpower.
- Ensure quality assurance and control of HVAC deliverables.
Commissioning & Testing
- Oversee HVAC system pre-commissioning and commissioning.
- Validate performance testing including Testing, Adjusting & Balancing (TAB).
- Ensure documentation of as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and commissioning reports.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in HVAC Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Lead Engineer.
- Experienced in mega ADNOC Oil processing EPC/EPCm projects.
Skills & Competencies
- HAP / Carrier software.
- AutoCAD software.
- Revit software.
- Familiarity with ASHRAE standards.
- Familiarity with NFPA standards.
- Familiarity with SMACNA standards.
- Familiarity with DW144 standards.
- Familiarity with ADNOC specifications and procedures.
- Familiarity with explosion-proof HVAC systems.
- Knowledge of redundancy and reliability design philosophy.
