Role Overview

Plumber at Anantara Hotels & Resorts, Desert Islands Resort & Spa. The role is based at a remote resort location and reports to the Engineering team.

Role Purpose

Maintain, repair, and service the hotel's plumbing and water systems to ensure efficient operation, guest comfort, and safety. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies while upholding high hotel standards.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Repairs

• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of the hotel's plumbing and water systems.
• Inspect, repair, and maintain water supply, drainage, sewage, and sanitary systems.
• Repair and replace pipes, valves, faucets, toilets, pumps, water heaters, and other plumbing fixtures.
• Identify and rectify water leaks, blockages, low water pressure, and other plumbing issues.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify potential plumbing defects and maintenance requirements.

Responsive Service

• Attend to plumbing requests and emergencies in guest rooms, public areas, restaurants, kitchens, and back-of-house areas.
• Respond promptly to guest concerns and ensure maintenance issues are resolved to the guest's satisfaction.
• Respond effectively to maintenance emergencies.

Preventive Maintenance & Planning

• Complete preventive maintenance activities according to the hotel maintenance schedule.

Documentation & Record-Keeping

• Maintain proper records of maintenance activities, repairs, and replacement of parts.

Housekeeping & Safety

• Maintain and properly store all tools, equipment, and materials provided by the Hotel.
• Keep work areas clean, safe, and organized after completing tasks.
• Follow all hotel health, safety, environmental, and operational procedures.

Sustainability & Optimization

• Participate in energy and water conservation initiatives and suggest cost-saving opportunities.

Team Support

• Support other Engineering and maintenance activities as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

• Certificate or Diploma in Plumbing, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or a related technical field.
• Minimum one year of relevant plumbing experience, preferably in a hotel, resort, commercial building, or facility management environment.
• Good knowledge of water supply, drainage, sewage, and sanitary systems.
• Hands-on experience in plumbing installation, repair, and preventive maintenance.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Basic knowledge of related mechanical systems and equipment.
• Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
