Role Overview

PLC Programmer / Automation Engineer (CODESYS Expert) at Sunreef Yachts. This position focuses on developing and maintaining automation systems using CODESYS-based development environments for advanced technical applications.

Role Purpose

Design, develop, and maintain scalable PLC applications using CODESYS V3.x platform with expertise in IEC 61131-3 programming, real-time control systems, and industrial communication protocols to deliver robust automation architectures.

Key Responsibilities

Development & Architecture

• Develop, test, and maintain PLC applications using CODESYS V3.x platform
• Design software architecture using FB, FBD, ST, LD, and SFC
• Create reusable and modular CODESYS libraries and custom function blocks
• Implement OOP concepts including interfaces, inheritance, and encapsulation
• Design state machines

Configuration & Integration

• Configure task scheduling and real-time execution
• Perform I/O mapping and device configuration
• Integrate systems via APIs and industrial protocols
• Implement Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP/IP, CAN Bus, CANopen, OPC UA, and MQTT integration

Testing & Debugging

• Debug using monitoring, breakpoints, and trace tools
• Perform commissioning and troubleshooting support

Code Management

• Manage version control and libraries
• Maintain GVL and persistent variables
• Handle pointers and memory management
• Document code and architecture

Qualifications & Experience

• Mandatory expertise in CODESYS V3.x
• Proven experience with function blocks, functions, and programs
• Demonstrated experience in library creation and management
• Experience with state machine design
• Experience with Linux-based systems
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols: Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP/IP, CAN Bus, CANopen, OPC UA, and MQTT
• Experience with REST APIs including HTTP/HTTPS, JSON/XML
• Experience with TCP/IP, sockets, and serial communication
• Experience with IoT and edge devices
