Planning Engineer

Role Overview

Planning Engineer at MIRA Construction in Dubai. This is a full-time position for an experienced professional to manage project schedules, monitor progress, and ensure timely delivery within budget on construction projects.

Role Purpose

Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules while tracking progress against baselines, identifying risks and delays, and coordinating across multiple stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

Schedule Development & Maintenance

• Prepare, develop, and maintain project schedules and work programs.
• Conduct critical path analysis and resource planning.
• Generate look-ahead schedules and recovery plans when required.

Project Monitoring & Analysis

• Monitor project progress against approved baselines and milestones.
• Analyze project performance and identify risks, delays, and corrective actions.
• Track procurement, engineering, and construction activities to ensure alignment with project schedules.
• Conduct delay analysis and progress reporting.

Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for management and clients.
• Assist in the preparation and evaluation of extension of time (EOT) claims.

Stakeholder Coordination & Compliance

• Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure project timelines are achieved.
• Review project scope, schedules, and resource requirements.
• Ensure compliance with company and client planning requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of UAE experience as a Planning Engineer.
• Strong experience in construction, fit-out, infrastructure, or building projects.
• Experience working on large-scale commercial, residential, hospitality, or infrastructure projects in the UAE.
• Knowledge of contractual planning requirements and claims management.
• PMP certification or Primavera certification is an advantage.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in Primavera P6 is mandatory.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Project, Excel, and project reporting tools is preferred.
• Strong understanding of project planning methodologies, scheduling techniques, and resource management.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple project schedules simultaneously.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
