Role Overview
Piping Engineer position with Wood PLC based in Sharjah, UAE. This recruitment supports the organization's Emiratization objectives and is open to UAE Nationals at all experience levels, from fresh graduates to professionals with up to 10 years of experience in Oil & Gas projects.

Role Purpose
Piping Engineers support the design, development, and execution of piping systems for onshore and offshore Oil & Gas projects. The role encompasses engineering activities ranging from initial layout and design through to commissioning and start-up, with responsibilities scaled to experience level.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Engineering
- Assist in preparation of piping layouts, routing studies, and engineering drawings.
- Support piping design activities in compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Perform piping design and engineering activities for onshore and offshore Oil & Gas projects.
- Conduct piping stress analysis and flexibility studies.
- Develop piping specifications, material requisitions, datasheets, and technical bid evaluations.
Review & Coordination
- Review P&IDs, piping layouts, isometrics, and 3D models.
- Review and approve piping layouts, isometrics, and plot plans.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams including Mechanical, Process, Civil, Structural, Electrical, and Instrumentation disciplines.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, vendors, and project teams to ensure successful project execution.
Compliance & Quality
- Ensure compliance with HSE and quality requirements.
- Ensure compliance with project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
Site & Project Activities
- Participate in site visits, inspections, and project meetings.
- Participate in procurement, installation, commissioning, and start-up activities.
Technical Support
- Support engineering calculations and design reviews.
- Assist in preparation of technical documentation, reports, and material requisitions.
- Support constructability reviews, HAZOP studies, and design risk assessments.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Internship experience in Oil & Gas, EPC, Energy, or Industrial projects is preferred.
- Experience with FEED, Detailed Engineering, Brownfield, Greenfield, or EPC projects is preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Understanding of piping design principles and engineering practices.
- Familiarity with ASME, ASTM, API, ANSI, and international codes and standards.
- Knowledge of P&IDs, Piping Material Specifications, Pipe Stress Analysis, Equipment Layouts, 3D Modeling, Isometric Drawings, and Pipe Supports.
