Role Overview

Painter position at Desert Islands Resort & Spa by Anantara, located at the resort property. The role maintains the hotel's interior and exterior appearance through painting, touch-up, surface preparation, and related maintenance works, ensuring all areas meet the hotel's quality, safety, and aesthetic standards while minimizing disruption to guests and operations.

Role Purpose

The Painter is responsible for maintaining the hotel's interior and exterior appearance by executing painting, touch-up, surface preparation, and related maintenance works to high quality, safety, and aesthetic standards.

Key Responsibilities

Painting and Decorative Works

• Carry out painting, repainting, touch-up, and decorative works throughout the hotel.
• Paint guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, offices, and other hotel facilities as required.
• Select and properly apply appropriate paints, coatings, and finishing materials.

Surface Preparation and Maintenance

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling, and repairing imperfections before painting.
• Perform preventive painting and maintenance works according to the hotel schedule.

Equipment and Safety

• Ensure painting tools and equipment are properly used, cleaned, maintained, and stored.
• Keep work areas clean, safe, and organized during and after completion of tasks.
• Follow all hotel health, safety, and environmental procedures.

Operations and Communication

• Respond promptly to painting and maintenance requests from hotel departments.
• Report major surface damage or maintenance issues to the Engineering Supervisor.
• Minimize disruption to guests while carrying out work in guest and public areas.
• Support other Engineering and maintenance activities as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

• Certificate or Diploma in Painting, Building Maintenance, Construction, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum one year of experience as a Painter, preferably in a hotel, resort, commercial building, or facility management environment.
• Good knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation, and finishing methods.
• Ability to work with different types of paints, coatings, and painting tools.
• Basic knowledge of building maintenance and repair works.
• Good understanding of health, safety, and environmental procedures.
