Role Overview

Orthopedics - Shoulder & Elbow Specialist at Taiba Hospital. The role is based in the Orthopedics Department and focuses on delivering consultant-level shoulder and elbow care.

Role Purpose

Deliver safe, evidence-based shoulder and elbow care across surgical and non-surgical settings. Establish individualized treatment plans, perform advanced procedures, lead multidisciplinary case management, and maintain JCI-compliant documentation while achieving high patient satisfaction and low complication rates.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Assessment & Diagnosis

• Evaluate patients through comprehensive history-taking, physical examination, imaging interpretation, and other diagnostic modalities to guide consultant-level diagnosis.
• Demonstrate expertise in upper limb anatomy, biomechanics, and pathology.
• Interpret advanced imaging including MRI, CT arthrography, and ultrasound.

Surgical & Non-Surgical Management

• Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans tailored to each patient.
• Perform office-based procedures including joint aspiration, injections, and fracture reduction.
• Execute advanced arthroscopy and reconstructive arthroplasty procedures.
• Deliver ultrasound-guided injections and rehabilitation protocols.

Perioperative Care

• Manage the full surgical pathway from preoperative assessment through postoperative recovery.
• Maintain safe clinical practice across all settings.

Care Coordination & Quality

• Partner with multidisciplinary teams to establish integrated management plans.
• Ensure safe discharge and continuity of care.
• Participate actively in MDT case reviews and quality initiatives.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in line with JCI standards.
• Deliver full JCI-compliant documentation.

Qualifications & Experience

• MBBS/MBBCh qualification.
• Master's in Orthopedics.
• Fellowship or Board Certification (MOHE-approved).
• Fellowship or training certification in Shoulder and Elbow specialty.
• Minimum 9 years of post-fellowship clinical experience.
