Role Overview

Optometrist at NMC Healthcare in Dubai, UAE.

Role Purpose

Deliver comprehensive eye care services to all patients while maintaining the highest standards of clinical practice, ethics, and professionalism in accordance with international guidelines and local regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care

• Assume quality of care for all patients.
• Perform complete eye examinations and contact lens fittings.
• Adhere to the highest standards of practice, ethics, and professionalism at all times.

Practice Management & Governance

• Participate in the control and supervision of optometry practice and dispensary in conjunction with the Medical Director and Head of the Department.
• Assist the Head of the Department in establishing medical policies and quality improvement procedures.
• Evaluate current practices, policies, and procedures.
• Follow appropriate international guidelines, DHA regulations, and Joint Commission International norms while treating or managing patients and discharging professional duties.

Professional Development

• Keep current with new techniques and philosophies related to all aspects of the optometry field.
• Maintain current knowledge of operation procedures and maintenance of new equipment.

Meetings & Collaboration

• Participate in quality assurance committee meetings, provider meetings, and general staff meetings.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor of Science in Optometry or equivalent diploma.
• At least two (2) years of experience.
• Currently licensed in country of origin.
• DHA license to practice in Dubai, UAE.

Skills & Competencies

• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Arabic language is desirable but not essential.
