OPERATOR

Role Overview

Operator at Napco National. The role is based on-site and involves operating blown film extrusion machinery, managing production quality, and maintaining safe working practices throughout each shift.

Role Purpose

Run blown film extrusion machines safely and efficiently, producing output that meets quality specifications while minimizing waste and supporting the broader production team and quality function.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Machine Management

• Set the machine properly and perform size changes.
• Run the machine safely and efficiently while maintaining low average waste and producing the best quality reachable outcome.
• Ensure proper handling of raw material received, returned, or transferred to and from the Raw Material warehouse.
• Verbally inform the Lead Operator and the Line Setter of any problem that occurs on the machine.

Quality & Compliance

• Facilitate the work of the Quality Inspector and ensure the conformity of product requirements with standard finished goods specifications.
• Ensure proper cleaning of the line during the shift and month close.
• Comply with and follow safety and environmental instructions and participate in toolbox talks given by the HSE officer.

Reporting & Documentation

• Fill in the daily production report and submit it to the Production Team Leader.

Housekeeping & Organization

• Make sure all finished goods pallets, waste bins, waste trolleys, and raw material are in their dedicated place.

Health, Safety & Environment Management

• Participate at all applicable levels and functions in the development, planning, implementation, performance evaluation, and actions for improvement of the Occupational Health and Safety management system.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 1–2 years of hands-on experience in blown film extrusion, preferably in PE films using LDPE, LLDPE, and HDPE.
• Experience operating mono-layer and/or multi-layer blown film extrusion lines, preferably on machines such as Kiefel, W&H, Alpine, Bandera, or similar.
• Technical diploma or relevant industrial background.

Skills & Competencies

• Good knowledge of extrusion process parameters and troubleshooting, including temperature, pressure, output, bubble stability, thickness variation, film width, winding, and common film defects.
• Basic knowledge of raw materials and blending, including PE resin grades, masterbatch, and additives, and their impact on processability and film quality.
• Good awareness of safety, quality requirements, standard operating procedures, and basic production documentation.
