Role Overview
Naval Architect at Archirodon Group N.V. The role is based with the company's marine operations team, supporting complex Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) projects worldwide.

Role Purpose
Maintain the integrity, compliance and operational readiness of marine vessels throughout their lifecycle, ensuring adherence to International Association of Classification Societies (IACS) standards, International Maritime Organization (IMO) regulations and project-specific requirements while managing repair, maintenance, certification and upgrade activities.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance & Certification
- Maintain and ensure valid class and statutory certificates with emphasis on marine vessel integrity compliant to IACS standard rules, IMO regulations, standard legislations from local authorities and project-based specific requirements.
- Liaise with IACS class survey requirements for marine vessels engaged in different project sites.
- Monitor IACS marine vessels due for class surveys through consolidated lists of marine equipment received from P&ED or through IACS online service portals.
- Upgrade and equip marine vessels in compliance with IACS applicable rules, regulations and other special or specific project requirements.
- Ensure lifesaving and fire-fighting appliances onboard marine vessels are in accordance with safety plans, applicable codes and international regulations of conventions.
Maintenance & Repair Operations
- Conduct dry-docking maintenance and repair of IACS marine vessels required for periodical bottom and class special surveys.
- Provide scope of works for vessels scheduled for dry-docking.
- Conduct onboard inspection on repair and maintenance of marine vessels in preparation for required projects.
- Assist in conversion and modification of marine vessels for specific operations as per project requirements.
- Prepare budget cost estimation for marine repair works.
- Prepare comparative statements for dry-docking repairs of marine vessels for third party repair yards.
Planning & Documentation
- Initiate Material Request Form (MRF) and include scope of work showing shipyard activities with related costs along with towing cost and Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) and class requirements.
- Maintain up-to-date electronic drawings and specifications of marine vessels in ARCO CFY's central archive.
- Prepare Equipment Transfer Inspection Reports for outgoing and incoming marine vessels sent to or received from projects.
- Prepare internal on-hire and off-hire surveys of company vessels during mobilization and de-mobilization to and from company projects.
Inventory & Asset Management
- Monitor and keep inventory records and certificates up-to-date related to navigational, lifesaving and fire-fighting appliances onboard marine vessels.
- Maintain and monitor availability of stocked items in ARCO CFY stores required for future allocation of marine vessels in projects.
Safety & Operations
- Conduct stability studies as necessary for safe operation of marine vessels.
Qualifications & Experience
- University degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering.
- Minimum five years of relevant experience as a Naval Architect, familiar with design and operations of the yard.
Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency in ship design software and engineering tools such as AutoCAD.
