Music Maestro (Part-Time)

Role Overview

Music Maestro (Part-Time) at Ajman University, on a temporary basis for 8 hours per week.

Role Purpose

Lead and develop the AU Music Band through rehearsals, performances, and mentorship, ensuring artistic excellence and expanding the group's musical capabilities and presence within the university community.

Key Responsibilities

Rehearsal & Preparation

• Plan and conduct regular rehearsals to prepare the band for performances.
• Teach and refine musical techniques, dynamics, and interpretation.
• Choose appropriate musical compositions and arrangements that align with AU Music Band's goals and abilities.
• Expand the band's repertoire by introducing new pieces and genres.
• Arrange and/or compose music as needed, adapting pieces to the band's instrumentation and skill level.

Performance & Direction

• Lead the band during live performances, ensuring precise timing, dynamics, and artistic expression.
• Communicate cues and directions to musicians during performances.
• Participate in AU major events, such as AU Global Day and AU's celebrations of UAE National Day.

Artistic Leadership & Mentorship

• Provide musical direction and guidance to band members, including musicians and vocalists.
• Collaborate with band members to shape the overall artistic identity of the group.
• Mentor and guide student musicians, fostering their musical growth and development.

Recruitment & Promotion

• Conduct auditions to select new members for the band.
• Promote the university music band within the campus community and beyond.
