Role Purpose

Develop detailed mechanical and piping cost estimates for complex EPC tender submissions by analyzing project documentation, calculating quantities, determining labor and equipment requirements, and building construction cost models based on historical data and project-specific requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Tender Documentation Review

• Study and review Invitation to Tender (ITT), technical specifications, scope of work, P&IDs, plot plans, layouts, and project drawings.
• Identify mechanical and piping scope boundaries, exclusions, and risks within tender documents.
• Prepare tender clarifications and technical queries where required.

Quantity & Cost Estimation

• Verify quantities against engineering drawings, isometrics, and specifications.
• Develop detailed cost estimates for mechanical and piping installation including equipment installation, piping fabrication and erection, valves and specialty items, structural and pipe supports, and hydrotesting, flushing, and mechanical completion activities.
• Develop unit rates, cost build-ups, and construction cost models based on historical data and project requirements.

Resource Planning & Modeling

• Prepare labour productivity calculations, manpower requirements, and equipment resources.

Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination

• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors as required for estimate development.

Database & Knowledge Management

• Maintain estimation databases, productivity norms, and cost benchmarks.
• Capture lessons learned and historical project data to improve future estimates.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• 5–7 years of experience in EPC Oil & Gas, Refinery, or Petrochemical projects.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment installation and piping fabrication and erection.
• Experience in cost estimation, quantity take-off, and BOQ preparation.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong ability to read and interpret Equipment Lists, P&IDs, Piping Isometrics, GA Drawings, and Equipment Layouts.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in estimation tools and cost databases.
