Mechanical Design Engineer

Role Overview

Mechanical Design Engineer position with Archirodon Group N.V, based in the UAE office, supporting a major Oil & Gas EPC project.

Archirodon is an international EPC contractor with over half a century of experience executing complex projects worldwide. The company has an outstanding record in Energy (Oil & Gas, Power and Water), Marine, Infrastructure, and Defense & Security sectors. Archirodon has been awarded a major Oil & Gas EPC project in the UAE and is building a team of experienced Lead Engineers based in the UAE office to lead multidiscipline engineering.

Role Purpose

To provide technical design support and engineering coordination for a brownfield Oil & Gas production project in the UAE, ensuring mechanical works comply with all specifications, standards, and requirements while supporting detailed engineering, design, quality assurance, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Support & Design

• Review and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, equipment layouts, specifications, and engineering documents for site execution.
• Provide technical design support to site construction teams and resolve mechanical design-related issues.
• Monitor engineering revisions and design changes and ensure the latest approved drawings are available at site.

Technical Review & Compliance

• Review shop drawings, RFIs, Technical Queries (TQs), method statements, and technical submittals.
• Ensure mechanical works comply with ADNOC requirements, project specifications, ASME, API, and applicable international codes and standards.

Coordination & Stakeholder Management

• Coordinate with Engineering, Construction, QA/QC, Procurement, Planning, and subcontractors.
• Provide technical coordination across multidiscipline teams.

Construction & Commissioning Support

• Support mechanical equipment installation, piping, supports, fabrication, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Assist with MTOs, as-built drawings, inspections, and project handover documentation.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 8–10 years of relevant Oil & Gas and EPC experience.
• Strong site experience is highly preferred.
• Experience in ADNOC projects or UAE Oil & Gas projects is an advantage.

Additional Information

The project includes detailed engineering and design, quality assurance and control, procurement and supply, interface management, construction and installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up of Hydrocarbon and non-Hydrocarbon systems. The brownfield project objective is to increase production handling capacity by adding a new Production Train and associated facilities at an existing Central Degassing Station and a new gas lift compressor train at another existing Central Degassing Station.
