Role Purpose

To oversee the design and coordination of regional transport projects by managing interior design elements, materials selection, and quality assurance while coordinating across multi-disciplinary engineering teams to ensure successful project delivery aligned with client aspirations and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Design Oversight and Review

• Oversee the interior design elements, including review of Contractors' material selection, detailing, and integration within the overall context.
• Monitor the quality of on-site construction and installation.
• Confidently review Contractor submissions of samples, mock-ups, design and shop-drawing information to ensure compliance with project requirements and standards.
• Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in reviewing and approving design submissions.

Client and Stakeholder Engagement

• Quickly develop a comprehensive understanding of client aspirations and project requirements to guide design decisions.
• Liaise with clients to ensure alignment with regulatory and project-specific requirements.
• Coordinate with other discipline reviewers to integrate interior designs with architecture, engineering and other technical aspects.

Design Compliance and Issue Resolution

• Ensure designs are fully conversant with relevant international and local design codes.
• Ensure that Contractors' designs satisfy all project requirements.
• Manage any proposed deviations through the appropriate technical and commercial processes.
• Discuss and resolve comments on Contractors' designs, ensuring all feedback is addressed appropriately.
• Address and resolve design issues promptly and efficiently.

Qualifications & Experience

• 7–10 years of proven experience in complex transport projects.
• Firsthand experience managing the interior design and material selection, detailing and construction within transport projects.
• Strong knowledge of international and local design codes and standards.
• Comprehensive understanding of project requirements.
• Interior Design background.

Skills & Competencies

• Excellent communication and coordination skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
• Ability to address and resolve design issues promptly and efficiently.
