Marine Spray Painters

Role Overview

Marine Spray Painters at Sunreef Yachts. The position involves preparing surfaces, mixing and applying marine coatings, and ensuring quality finishes on yacht construction and repair projects.

Role Purpose

To prepare yacht surfaces and apply marine paints, primers, and protective coatings using spray equipment to meet quality and manufacturer standards while following safety and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Surface Preparation

• Prepare surfaces by sanding, grinding, masking, and cleaning.
• Ensure good understanding of surface preparation and finishing techniques.

Paint Application

• Mix and apply marine paints, primers, and coatings using spray equipment.
• Operate spray guns, compressors, and related painting tools safely and efficiently.
• Use airless and conventional spray painting equipment.

Quality Assurance

• Ensure paint thickness and finish meet quality and manufacturer standards.
• Carry out touch-ups, repairs, and repainting as required.

Compliance & Maintenance

• Follow work instructions, safety procedures, and environmental regulations.
• Maintain painting equipment and keep the work area clean and organized.

Coordination

• Coordinate with supervisors and other departments to complete jobs on schedule.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a spray painter in the marine, yacht, shipyard, or automotive industry.
• Knowledge of marine paint systems, primers, topcoats, and anti-fouling coatings.

Skills & Competencies

• Ability to use airless and conventional spray painting equipment.
• Physically fit and able to work in confined spaces and at heights when required.
• Basic communication skills in English.
