Manager β Research & Grants Office at American International University Kuwait.
Role Purpose
Oversee the operations and strategic development of the Research & Grants Office, managing grant applications, funding opportunities, and research initiatives while supporting faculty and institutional research objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Grant Management
- Manage the full lifecycle of grant applications from identification through submission and post-award reporting.
- Monitor grant funding opportunities and alert faculty to relevant opportunities aligned with institutional priorities.
- Coordinate grant submissions to ensure compliance with funder requirements and deadlines.
- Track grant budgets and expenditures to ensure adherence to approved budgets and funder regulations.
Faculty Support
- Provide technical assistance to faculty on grant writing, proposal development, and funder requirements.
- Mentor and guide researchers through the grants process.
- Facilitate connections between faculty and external funding sources.
Operations & Administration
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the Research & Grants Office.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all grant applications and awards.
- Ensure compliance with institutional policies and external funder regulations.
- Prepare regular reports on grant activity, funding awarded, and office performance metrics.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with academic departments to identify research priorities and funding needs.
- Liaise with university administration on research policy and strategic initiatives.
- Represent the office at meetings with external funding agencies and stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum 3β5 years of experience in grant management, research administration, or related field.
- Strong understanding of grant lifecycle, funder requirements, and compliance procedures.
- Experience working in a higher education environment preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Proficiency with grant management systems and databases.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
