Role Purpose

To provide leadership to the Maintenance Planning department to ensure that all commitments to Service Providers, staff, and regulatory authorities are efficiently delivered.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Department Operations

• Provide leadership to the Maintenance Planning department to ensure consistent delivery of commitments to Service Providers, staff, and regulatory authorities.
• Develop and operate the Maintenance Planning department and associated procedures to ensure a consistent approach meets national airworthiness regulations and agreed KPI dashboard requirements.
• Establish efficient and effective internal procedures including interfaces to support department objectives and provide assistance to other departments.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head or Senior Manager of Maintenance Planning.

Project & Maintenance Management

• Own the life cycle of each Maintenance Project, including pre-input and wash-up meetings for all planned maintenance events, A checks, and higher maintenance checks.
• Interface with network scheduling departments on all matters related to creation of maintenance slots.
• Deliver annual budgets for maintenance costs.

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure Quality Lapses are investigated and remedied in accordance with company procedures.
• Monitor Technical Records paperwork and processes through audit processes to comply with CAMO regulations.

Stakeholder Management & Representation

• Interface with internal and external departments on all matters relating to Maintenance Planning.
• Represent the Etihad Planning department at meetings and be responsible for actions and follow-up.

Team Performance & Development

• Periodically review workforce performance using Etihad Appraisal systems and take necessary action to help develop improved performance.

Qualifications & Experience

• Hold a technical academic degree or HND in aeronautical engineering, or hold an ICAO Type I or Type II license.
• Minimum of seven years operational experience in a Maintenance Planning environment.
• Demonstrated management skills, background, and experience at Management or Supervisory level.
• Proven MRO or Aviation-related operational experience.
• Demonstrated, up-to-date knowledge of applicable airworthiness and Health and Safety legislation.
