Role Overview
Manager Accounting and Settlement at QNB, located in Doha, Qatar. This is a Qatarization position within the Operations Division.

Role Purpose
The incumbent will perform settlement, processing, and reconciliation transactions pertaining to all accounts while ensuring customer satisfaction through superior customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Financial & Performance Management
- Implement KPIs and best practices for the Manager, Accounting & Settlement role.
- Promote cost consciousness and efficiency to minimize cost, avoid waste, and optimize benefits for the bank.
- Extract Management Information System (MIS) reports on a timely basis for close monitoring.
- Act within the limits of powers delegated to the incumbent.
Customer Service & Stakeholder Relations
- Assist customers in all queries on bank products and seek solutions to their requests.
- Build and maintain strong and effective relationships with related departments and units to achieve Group objectives.
- Maintain activities in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with internal departments and units to achieve improvements in turnaround time.
- Support branches and related departments as needed.
- Answer questions and resolve problems as needed.
- Support International Branches and subsidiaries.
Transaction Processing & Reconciliation
- Ensure posting of transactions on a daily basis so that operating standards are fulfilled.
- Reconcile accounts on a daily basis.
- Process chargebacks and disputes within the required timeframe to reduce losses.
- Process card transaction disputes in an accurate and timely manner to meet customer demands.
- Support and replace Card Processing personnel as needed.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Provide timely and accurate data to external and internal Auditors, Compliance, Financial Control, and Risk when required.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory pronouncements.
- Ensure full awareness of all policies and procedures issued in relation to money laundering prevention.
- Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory, and internal compliance requirements including Group Compliance Policies and Procedures (AML & CTF, Sanctions Policy, Data Protection Policy, Fraud Control Policy, Whistle Blowing Policy, Conflict of Interest and Insider Dealing Policy).
- Understand and effectively perform your role under the Three Lines of Defense principle to identify, measure, monitor, manage, and report risks.
- Ensure systematic good outcomes for clients in accordance with Conduct Risk policy.
- Support the framework of RCSA, KRI, Incident reporting and remediation as appropriate in accordance with Operational Risk Management requirements.
Communication & Reporting
- Keep management informed of area activities and any significant problems.
- Attend and participate in meetings as required.
Professional Development & Awareness
- Stay abreast of changes in Card Processing operations and policies.
- Proactively identify areas for professional development of self and undertake development activities.
- Seek out opportunities to remain current with all developments in the professional field.
- Maintain appropriate knowledge to ensure full qualification to undertake the role.
- Complete all mandatory training provided by the bank and attain and maintain required levels of competence.
- Attend mandatory internal and external seminars as instructed by the bank.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree from a university with a major in Marketing, Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or Information Technology or related field of study.
- At least 6 years of relevant experience; experience within a highly rated international bank and card operations is preferable.
