Role Overview
Lead Quality & Inspection Plant at Wood PLC. The role involves supporting the company's projects business, contributing to the development of a new gold mine and processing facility at a remote site in Saudi Arabia.
Role Purpose
Manage all aspects of quality across the organization and services provided. Lead quality assurance, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement to ensure compliance, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence across the project.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Management & Systems
- Manage all aspects of quality across the breadth of the respective organization and services provided.
- Drive the Wood Business Management System (BMS) across the organization, ensuring effective application and routine monitoring, assessment, and improvement of compliance.
- Facilitate external BMS certification as appropriate.
- Ensure consistent and effective implementation of quality supporting systems across the organization, including NCR, improvement actions, and lessons learned.
Stakeholder & Team Leadership
- Identify and regularly engage key stakeholders to promote quality management and gather feedback on performance.
- Manage and regularly engage with quality teams, ensuring competence assurance, performance appraisal, objective setting, and sharing of best practices.
- Build and manage relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
- Gather and act upon customer feedback, ensuring action is taken to maintain and improve customer satisfaction.
Planning, Resource Management & Delivery
- Plan and allocate resources effectively, including people and budgets, enabling delivery of agreed objectives and deliverables.
- Plan and execute risk-based assurance plans, including escalation of significant findings to senior leaders.
- Support tenders and proposal activities for the organization.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Monitor and analyze delivery performance data, regularly reporting themes and trends to senior leaders.
- Undertake intervention as required based on performance analysis.
- Drive efforts to maximize margin enhancement.
Supply Chain & Quality Assurance
- Ensure quality is driven across the supply chain to assure right first-time delivery.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree or diploma in quality management, project management, or related discipline (essential).
- Lead Auditor qualification by a recognized industry body (essential).
- Formal training in recognized root cause analysis techniques (essential).
- 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in the associated industry.
- Comprehensive understanding of industry standards, including ISO 9001.
- Membership of CQI/ASQ Quality organizations, Project Management Institute or equivalent (desirable).
Skills & Competencies
- Experience in building and managing relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
- Experience in working with multifunctional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage change and thrive in a highly dynamic work environment.
- High level of communication skills in both written and spoken format.
- Proficiency in the use of continuous improvement tools and techniques.
