Role Overview
Wood PLC is recruiting a Lead Project Engineer to join its Projects team in Sohar, Oman. The role focuses on delivering across FEED and Detail design scopes of work, leading project phases and developing strategies to deliver technical requirements.

Role Purpose
To lead project phases through FEED and detailed design scopes, establish best strategies and approaches to deliver technical requirements, and ensure execution of high-quality, safe design work on onshore oil and gas projects in brownfield and greenfield settings.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership
- Lead the phases of the project including technical detailed design scope.
- Bring out the best strategies and approaches to deliver the technical requirements.
- Solve project execution challenges recognized during the development of the project.
- Follow up project deliverables and participate in project reviews.
Safety & Quality
- Ensure Safety and Quality control procedures are followed during the execution of all work.
- Achieve a high standard of safety in all design work.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead and participate in pre and post contract award discussions with Asset Owners.
- Assess and assist in the definition of user requirements.
Site & Progress Oversight
- Conduct or supervise site visits for accuracy of project progress.
Mentoring & Development
- Guide young engineers in related matters.
- Provide staff development and mentoring capabilities.
General Duties
- Complete other related works as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum degree in Engineering.
- Minimum 15 years FEED/EPC project experience as Lead Project Engineer.
- Minimum 2 years FEED/EPC project experience.
- Experience in Refinery projects.
- Experience in Onshore Oil and Gas.
Skills & Competencies
- Staff development and mentoring capabilities.
- Skilled in handling vendor documents.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications.
- Good English language understanding and writing.
- Strong communication skills.
- Computer applications proficiency.
- Good people skills.
- Capacity to work in multi-cultural organizations.
