Role Purpose

Supervise daily laundry and uniform room operations to deliver exceptional quality in guest laundry and dry cleaning services while ensuring compliance with safety, maintenance, and staffing standards.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Supervision

• Supervise day-to-day operation of the laundry and uniform room sections.
• Supervise appearance and good manners of staff during operations.
• Supervise cleanliness of laundry and uniform room areas and equipment.
• Capable of performing the work of any departmental staff member during shortages or busy periods.
• Transfer personnel between sections as needed.

Quality & Standards

• Check quality of processed guest laundry and dry cleaning work to ensure optimum quality standards.
• Ensure washing formulas, methods, and procedures are obtained and followed.
• Eliminate work hazards to personnel.
• Check compliance with safety and fire regulations.

Maintenance & Resources

• Ensure proper maintenance is completed on all laundry and uniform room section equipment.
• Maintain adequate stock of chemicals for laundry operations.

Staff Management

• Supervise appearance and professional conduct of staff.
• Conduct regular appraisal of staff performance.
• Responsible for rotating staff across all laundry sections to cover all jobs.
• Responsible for training new employees.
• Responsible for ongoing on-the-job training within the department.

Reporting & Administration

• Record daily production reports for the laundry supervisor for monthly production compilation.
• Post all laundry charges to Micros system.

Communication & Guest Service

• Handle telephone calls professionally and courteously with a helpful attitude toward guests and staff.
• Respond properly to any hotel emergency or safety situation.

Strategic Performance

• Implement strategies and execute activities to drive and continuously improve financial results, guest satisfaction, human capital index, and market share.

Additional Duties

• Complete any other duties as assigned by the Laundry Supervisor.
