Junior Project Manager in Yacht Building

Role Overview

Junior Project Manager in Yacht Building at Sunreef Yachts. This role supports the Head of Project Management in overseeing the construction of new luxury yachts, coordinating tasks, liaising with clients, managing resources, and ensuring projects are completed efficiently and on schedule.

Role Purpose

Support the smooth execution of yacht building projects by coordinating construction activities, managing resources and stakeholders, maintaining client relationships, and ensuring all work meets quality standards and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination

• Assist in developing and maintaining project plans and schedules.
• Ensure respect of project milestones.
• Monitor and control project progress.
• Coordinate with different departments to ensure alignment with project timelines.
• Follow up on a daily basis on project evolution, resolve issues, and report findings during production.
• Report to the Head of Project Management on construction activities and project progress.

Resource Management

• Help identify and allocate resources, including manpower, materials, and equipment.
• Anticipate workload and assign collective and individual responsibilities.
• Ensure efficient utilization of resources to meet project goals.
• Coordinate approved third-party contractors and manage coactivity on board.
• Identify, source, and approve equipment and material requests for projects as per design requirements within approved budget.

Client Relationship Management

• Serve as the liaison between the client and the shipyard throughout the project lifecycle.
• Guide clients through the customization process by explaining technical possibilities and limitations.
• Foster long-term relationships to support potential future projects, refits, or upgrades.
• Maintain confidentiality and discretion while managing high-value transactions and clients' bespoke requests.
• Ensure that the client's expectations are aligned with final quality checks and delivery timing.

Technical Support

• Assist in resolving technical issues related to yacht construction or design.
• Liaise with engineers, designers, production team, and suppliers.
• Conduct regular project meetings to update progress, address issues, and ensure project specifications are met.
• Identify and anticipate risks that might impact schedule and propose solutions to mitigate together with the Head of Production.
• Resolve technical issues pertaining to construction.
• Liaise with the Design Department to receive drawings on time and ensure the Production team is aware and supports project progress.

Quality Assurance

• Ensure all construction activities meet quality standards.
• Work with the Quality Control team to conduct inspections and audits.
• Coordinate quality control checks to deliver projects according to class and owner quality requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in Mechanical or Marine Engineering (or equivalent).
• 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in project management in shipbuilding or marine engineering.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong planning skills.
• Ability to produce and present effective and comprehensive reports.
• Ability to delegate tasks and manage people professionally.
• Turkish language preferred but not mandatory.
