Role Overview
Junior Planning Engineer at KONE, based in the UAE, Qatar, KSA, and Oman. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining project plans plus monitoring and reporting project progress against plans. The role is involved from the tender phase (supporting the sales team) to project execution and closeout (supporting the project team).

Role Purpose
Design, develop, and maintain cost- and resource-loaded project schedules while proactively highlighting resource and time challenges in meeting project requirements. Support both the sales function during the tender phase and project teams through execution and closeout.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Support
- Support the sales function by creating project schedules and related support material for use in KONE estimates and proposals.
Schedule Development & Maintenance
- Design, construct, and maintain cost- and resource-loaded schedules for projects in execution.
- Assist the local Project Manager in the development and maintenance of existing schedules performing critical path, acceleration, and gap analysis as required.
- Maintain accurate records of schedule development throughout the lifetime of the project.
Project Requirements & Integration
- Interact directly with customers to clearly understand overall project requirements and milestones to integrate construction master schedules with those specific to KONE scope.
- Ensure bespoke customer reports and contractual planning obligations are understood and fulfilled.
Supply Chain & Operational Alignment
- Bridge potential misalignment between KONE Supply Line and Front Line by actively checking project schedules and identifying and suggesting corrective actions and scheduling opportunities.
Analysis & Forecasting
- Assist in project performance analysis and forecasting based on Critical Path and Earned Value.
- Assist in project risk analysis.
Claims & Contractual Support
- Provide support to the Project Team and management about Extension of Time (EOT) claims and Cause and Effect scheduling.
- Proactively assist the project manager on critical and near critical delays, delay notices, and interim or final particulars for EOT claims through effective collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
Process Development & Training
- Contribute to the development of planning processes and best practices and assist with their implementation.
- Guide, support, and train project teams in the application of planning processes and best practices.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in project planning, scheduling, and claims management.
- Experience working with at least one of the top 10 to 15 construction companies or within the elevator industry.
- Proven experience in Extension of Time (EOT) claim management and contractual dispute resolution (preferred).
Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project.
- Proficiency in other project management tools.
- Strong understanding of construction project dashboards, progress tracking, and reporting.
Additional Information
- One-year fixed term contract role.
