Junior Material Planning Engineer

Role Overview

Sunreef Yachts is seeking a Junior Material Planning Engineer to support the planning and coordination of materials across multiple yacht construction projects.

Role Purpose

Working closely with the Systems and Mechanical Engineering teams, you will ensure that all materials are accurately defined, sourced, and delivered in line with project timelines and production requirements. This role maintains alignment between engineering, procurement, and production, ensuring smooth execution across the build process.

Key Responsibilities

Planning & Requirements Management

• Plan and manage material requirements based on project schedules and engineering deliverables
• Prepare and issue RFQs (Requests for Quotation) to suppliers
• Raise and submit Purchase Requests (PRs) in alignment with project needs

Supplier Coordination & Analysis

• Analyze and compare supplier quotations in coordination with engineering and procurement teams
• Track and follow up on orders to ensure on-time delivery and identify potential delays
• Support the resolution of supply chain issues, delays, and discrepancies

Documentation & Inventory Management

• Maintain structured documentation of BOMs, RFQs, POs, and supplier communications
• Monitor inventory levels and highlight shortages or inconsistencies

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Coordinate closely with Systems, Mechanical, and Production teams to ensure material alignment
• Contribute to the improvement of internal processes related to material planning and tracking

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 1–2 years of experience in material planning, procurement, or supply chain
• Experience in the marine / yacht industry is highly preferred

Skills & Competencies

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data handling, tracking, basic analysis)
• Basic knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD or similar)
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Good communication skills and ability to coordinate with suppliers and internal teams
• Strong organizational skills with a structured and follow-up-driven mindset
• High level of attention to detail and analytical thinking
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Proactive approach with strong problem-solving capabilities
• Team-oriented mindset with a focus on cross-department collaboration
