Role Overview

Junior Buyer at NMDC Group.

Role Purpose

To assist in procurement activities to meet materials requests in accordance with company policies and procedures, and to provide support to the Procurement Department to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the procurement process.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Planning & Requisition Management

• Assist in identifying procurement needs.
• Receive Procurement Requisitions from stores via coordinator and verify.
• Clarify end-user queries to ensure orders are placed for the right material or services.

Sourcing & Vendor Management

• Initiate, prepare and dispatch RFQ, Bid Analysis and orders per department policy and procedures.
• Assist in negotiation with vendors to obtain the best possible pricing and payment options.
• Bid, award and administer supply, services and orders to suppliers.
• Assist in managing and developing vendor relationships.
• Broaden the network of existing group vendors to provide internal customers with a wider range of product and service solutions.
• Monitor vendor performance and update it to the Procurement Superintendent for evaluation.

Order Administration & Delivery

• Monitor and follow up quotations and bids analysis with end-user and Procurement Order deliveries.
• Work with team members and vendors to ensure adherence to ordered specs, quality and timeline.
• Assist to buy all supplies and equipment and maintain quality for same.

Cost Management

• Assist in cost management to identify areas of potential cost reduction.
• Analyse the impact of pricing changes for goods and services in routine activities.
• Assist in negotiating fair pricing without compromising on quality of goods or services.

Compliance & Reporting

• Update Procurement Department policies and procedures, service level agreements and comprehensive procurement agreements.
• Prepare timely and accurate reports in line with narrative reports that meet requirements.
• Promote and ensure compliance with Organization's Health & Safety policies.
• Ensure active participation in the safety program as a condition of employment to achieve a safer working environment.
• Perform other jobs as requested by the Manager and line superiors from time to time.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or equivalent.
