Role Overview

IT Infrastructure Support Specialist at Air Products. This role is based on-site and supports Air Products' digital and IT infrastructure operations.

Role Purpose

Deliver comprehensive IT infrastructure support across cabling, network systems, and technology deployments. Ensure compliance with industry and Air Products standards while maintaining operational continuity through installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and coordination of external technical resources.

Key Responsibilities

Cabling and Infrastructure Installation

  • Ensure proper cable management, labeling, and compliance with industry and Air Products DT/IT standards.
  • Supervise installation, termination, and testing of structured cabling including Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, and fiber optics for data, voice, and CCTV systems.
  • Monitor fiber optic cable using OTDR and Fluke testing with complete documentation.
  • Layout IT room cabinets, mount equipment, and manage cable installation with labeling and documentation.
  • Inspect and verify communication cable installation meets project requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and repair damaged or faulty cabling, connectors, and network drops.

Project and Deployment Support

  • Assist the DT Project team with installation and configuration of DMZ systems.
  • Set up and manage temporary IT infrastructure including network cabling, wireless access points, and VPN connections.
  • Provide network hardware upgrades and installations for Maintain Viability work where Network Technical Support would not perform this role.
  • Perform site activities in compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Receive and execute assigned tasks according to Safety Work Permit requirements.
  • Develop and gain approval of Job Safety Analysis and Risk Assessment for assigned tasks.

Vendor and Stakeholder Management

  • Manage IT contractors, vendors, and external parties, coordinating with DT Infrastructure and support services.
  • Provide technical support for Microwave and Tetra tower installation and device management in collaboration with external vendors.
  • Coordinate with strategic vendors, outside support providers, and third-party vendors.

Documentation and Compliance

  • Prepare, review, and maintain documentation for inspection test reports (ITR) and upload to Aconex and OT systems.
  • Maintain IT Standards including Safety for IT rooms within areas of responsibility.

Technical Support and Coordination

  • Provide local coordination for issue remediation and deployments with other DIS teams located remotely, primarily network and wireless services.
  • Provide local IT support and maintain IT Standards for IT rooms.
  • Provide information technology support for industrial control systems at site.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Information Systems or Computer Science, specialized training, certification, or equivalent work experience.
  • Good written and spoken English language skills.
  • Proven work experience in desktop support or other IT infrastructure areas.
  • Knowledge of PC clients including Microsoft Windows 7 and Windows 10 (required), network connectivity (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN) (required), remote connectivity (SSL/VPN), printing queue setup and network troubleshooting with HP hardware knowledge, software distribution and SCCM (basic knowledge required), and MS Office Products including Office/O365.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SCEP and Windows Firewall.
  • Knowledge of virtual desktop infrastructure and/or Citrix.
  • Familiarity with Industrial Control Systems (ICS) (desirable).
  • Knowledge of other IT infrastructure tools and services such as networks, servers, security, and voice (desirable).

Additional Information

  • Expected to work outside normal business hours and weekends if required to provide technical support.
