Role Purpose
The IT Engineer is an experienced-level position responsible for planning, executing, and managing new applications into existing systems and software throughout the enterprise. This role provides the IT infrastructure required to run application software to support the computational and information needs of the company, serves as the first point of contact for IT helpdesk queries, and ensures technical operations run smoothly with expert maintenance of hardware and operating systems.
Key Responsibilities
Helpdesk & Support Operations
- Respond to, track, and monitor inquiries and requests for assistance with software, hardware, and other technical problems.
- Act as the first point of contact for all IT helpdesk queries, resolving issues directly or escalating them to senior engineers as required.
- Resolve complex, varied software access and performance issues by applying diversified procedures and analytical evaluation to determine the best course of action.
Infrastructure & System Management
- Evaluate system hardware and operating systems.
- Monitor systems to track operating efficiency and to ensure service level objectives are met.
- Install and configure operating systems effectively with limited supervision.
Integration & Compliance
- Liaise with other software developers and engineers to address issues in program logic and the interoperability of new applications with existing systems software.
- Ensure that technology integrations meet compliance and functional specifications.
- Develop standards and processes to support and facilitate integration projects and initiatives.
- Adhere to change management and documentation standards.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Reporting
- Work cooperatively and effectively with colleagues and partners across the entire organization to achieve shared goals.
- Work with data owners and business systems analysts to develop models, procedures, and protocols for reporting in concert with requirements.
- Leverage strong social and communication skills to understand stakeholders and influence decision-making using logic and data.
Testing & Documentation
- Test software and communicate and document results and make recommendations based on findings.
Continuous Improvement
- Drive continuous improvement in system performance.
- Travel as per business needs.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in IT or related field (Computer Science, Information Science, Mathematics, or Engineering).
- Minimum 3 years' experience in IT.
- Expert capabilities in diagnosing and repairing technical issues.
- Thorough understanding of internal computer operating systems, networking, programming, and analytical methods.
- Solid working knowledge of project management processes.
Skills & Competencies
- Intune experience (preferred).
- Google Workspace (GWS) experience (preferred).
- High sensitivity to customer needs.
- Deep, genuine interest in the broader field of Information Technology.
