Investment Associate (UAE National)

Role Overview

Investment Associate at Emirates Investment Authority, based in the UAE. This position supports the sector head in overseeing strategy, budgeting, risk, talent, compensation, and M&A initiatives across portfolio companies.

Role Purpose

The Investment Associate manages portfolio company value creation, initiates and oversees transformation initiatives, and evaluates new investment opportunities while providing analytical and operational support to the sector head and investment manager.

Key Responsibilities

Value Creation & Portfolio Management

• Support portfolio company value creation opportunities through consistently refreshed shareholder opinions and Value Creation Plans.
• Provide support to the Investment Manager who acts as the key interface with portfolio companies (Board and Executive team) to drive value creation plans to execution.
• Support the identification and analysis of portfolio company synergies and their implementation.
• Drive and optimize value creation in portfolio companies.

Asset Performance Monitoring

• Perform analysis and reporting that supports regular performance review of portfolio companies.
• Review and report on whether companies are on track versus plan on key topics.
• Flag any potential issues to the Investment Manager.
• Provide data and requests for reports and analysis that underpin decisions on implications of hold or sell for assets.
• Perform inter-company comparison with other sector and industry competitors in terms of costs, sales, profit, ratios, and other metrics.

Sector Strategy & Deal Origination

• Gather data and research that supports the development of sector strategies and Emirates Investment Authority point of view on sectors and latest relevant trends and investable themes.
• Gather data and research that supports the development of detailed sector screens to identify most attractive opportunities for investment.
• Conduct deal origination for new strategic investments in coordination with M&A.
• Begin to forge connections that engage with the sector ecosystem and allow further building of a strong network with relevant stakeholders.

Deal Execution & Analysis

• Conduct reports and analysis as requested to enable deal teams to execute on deal transactions in collaboration with the M&A team.
• Heavily contribute on all sector-specific and commercial topics, including commercial diligence.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Business.
• 4 to 8 years of experience in Consulting, Investments, or related field.
• Must hold a valid UAE family book.
• Relevant professional certificates are an added advantage (CFA, CPA).

• Strong financial modelling experience.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
