Role Overview
Intern โ Fintech at Delivery Hero (Talabat). This is an internship role supporting financial control and governance across Fintech product lines.

Role Purpose
Support the Fintech Financial Controller in maintaining the integrity, completeness, and timeliness of core Fintech control activities across multiple product lines. Strengthen financial governance, ensure robust data oversight, manage recurring reconciliation workflows, and eliminate single points of failure across key financial processes.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reconciliation
- Assist in the periodic reconciliation of financial flows across multiple Fintech product lines.
- Support data validation and identify financial discrepancies.
Period-End Closure
- Track, investigate, and follow up on unresolved items.
- Ensure smooth, accurate, and timely month-end and period-end closing cycles.
Variance Analysis
- Support variance analysis against established benchmarks.
- Proactively flag operational anomalies and financial deviations for senior review.
Cost Control Support
- Monitor expense deviations systematically.
- Escalate operational risks before they impact financial performance.
Documentation & Maintenance
- Maintain, structure, and update key financial logs, reconciliation trackers, and audit documentation across assigned Fintech service streams.
- Continuously monitor the completeness and accuracy of financial records to ensure full alignment with underlying transactional activity.
Qualifications & Experience
- Recent graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- Audit experience is preferred.
- Prior exposure to fintech or payment processing environments is a plus.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, advanced logical formulas, and structured data manipulation.
- Exceptional attention to detail and comfort working with big data.
- Structured approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to manage recurring monitoring tasks and routine control workflows with consistency, ownership, and follow-through.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proactive approach to escalating issues and following up across teams.
- Familiarity with financial control concepts and reconciliation frameworks is a bonus.
- Basic knowledge of data querying or scripting tools such as SQL or Python is an advantage.
