Role Overview
Inspector - Mechanical at AtkinsRéalis. The Mechanical Inspector ensures contractors comply with contract documents, coordinates daily with other teams to document and verify work quality and quantity, and processes incoming inspection requests and technical submittals.

Role Purpose
To maintain contract compliance and ensure quality assurance on mechanical and transportation projects through daily site supervision, inspection, documentation, and coordination with project teams and the Resident Engineer.
Key Responsibilities
Contract & Documentation Management
- Read and understand package contract documents, detailed drawings, specifications, and health and safety measures, including any associated updates.
- Maintain records of the Contractor's manpower and equipment daily resources.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure Contractor(s) comply with standards and specifications of contract documents through observation, measurements, and testing.
- Track quality assurance progress.
- Monitor conformance to quality, performance, and code requirements by performing inspection duties.
- Apply and implement all quality controls and quality procedures of the site.
- Prepare site measurements and surveying checks needed by the leader.
Site Supervision & Documentation
- Undertake all site supervision and inspections when required or instructed by the Resident Engineer (RE) or the Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE).
- Document in assigned areas the Contractor's personnel and equipment, activities observed, location of activities, reason for activities, and means and methods utilized.
- Report on materials delivery.
- Monitor Health and Safety of construction works and report on violations.
Site Leadership & Coordination
- Coordinate on a daily basis with other teams to document and verify quality and quantity of work performed by the Contractor.
- Process incoming Inspection Requests and technical submittals and perform necessary actions.
- Follow up and implement site instructions made by the leader.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- 7 years of overall experience, with a minimum of 5 years in the MEA (Middle East and Africa).
- Experience in Mechanical and transportation projects.
- Experience in Construction Supervision with a Consultancy.
Skills & Competencies
- Good knowledge of basic design requirements, Mechanical methodologies, and installation processes and procedures.
- Knowledge of Building Codes.
- Detailed knowledge of construction techniques.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Competent at writing reports with ability to present views clearly and concisely in good written English.
- Familiarity with construction safety practices and regulations.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in English; Arabic language skills are advantageous.
