Inspector (Electrical/ICT)

Role Purpose

The Electrical Inspector is responsible for inspecting and monitoring electrical works on site to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, applicable codes and standards, and project quality requirements. The role supports the project team in maintaining construction quality, identifying deficiencies, and ensuring timely resolution of electrical issues.

Key Responsibilities

Inspections & Monitoring

• Conduct thorough inspections of electrical systems, installations, and equipment to ensure compliance with contract documents, specifications, relevant local and international codes and standards.
• Conduct daily inspections of electrical, ICT, and ELV systems, including MV/LV distribution, MV substations, structured cabling, CCTV, security systems, fire alarm, and associated infrastructure.
• Monitor installation of street lighting, Apron floodlighting, GPUs, AGL, SAS, and telecom infrastructure.
• Conduct regular surveillance of site work against documented processes.
• Conduct daily inspections of ICT and ELV installations, including structured cabling, racks, termination panels, and active and passive components.
• Ensure proper installation of systems such as CCTV, access control, public address, fire alarm, and building management interfaces.
• Monitor and verify installation methods, workmanship, and Quality, Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health Policies, Manuals, and Procedures compliance.

Documentation & Verification

• Conduct a review of work pack documentation and validate test data as meeting specified requirements and/or within tolerance.
• Review and verify method statements, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and material submittals.
• Ensure incorporated materials on projects comply with the plans and specifications.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections and progress reports on site.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate records of all inspections and findings.

Testing & Commissioning

• Witness testing and commissioning of electrical systems.
• Raise non-conformance reports (NCRs) and ensure timely resolution.

Compliance & Safety

• Identify and document electrical deficiencies, code violations, and potential safety hazards.
• Stay up to date with changes in Saudi Arabian and international electrical codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
• Provide expert guidance and recommendations to improve electrical safety and efficiency on project sites.
• Participate in pre-construction meetings to discuss electrical requirements and potential challenges.

Stakeholder Coordination

• Participate in site coordination and progress meetings with contractors and stakeholders to resolve technical issues on-site.
• Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and project managers to resolve electrical issues and ensure timely project completion.

General Duties

• Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager/supervisor.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical, ICT, and ELV inspection, preferably in infrastructure and hanger projects.
• Aviation project experience is preferred.
• Prior experience working with a Project Management Consultant (PMC) is highly desirable.
• Proven experience working on construction sites and aviation projects.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of Saudi electrical codes, SEC standards, and international regulations.
• Proficiency in Saudi Arabian and international electrical codes and standards.
• Good understanding of electrical systems used in infrastructure projects, such as street lighting, utility networks, cabling, MV/LV substations, AGL, and SAS systems.
• Strong knowledge of structured cabling, networking, and integrated systems.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical and ICT systems and components.
• Strong ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Expertise in using various testing equipment and inspection tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant inspection software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic language skills are a plus.
• Strong communication and reporting skills.

• Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Meticulous attention to detail with a strong commitment to safety and quality.
