Role Purpose

Inspect and monitor dry utility construction works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements. Coordinate between contractors and multidisciplinary teams to verify quality, safety, and proper installation of electrical, telecom, street lighting, and associated utility networks.

Key Responsibilities

Inspection and Monitoring

• Inspect and monitor dry utility construction works, including electrical, telecom, street lighting, and associated utility networks.
• Conduct daily site inspections to ensure works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, and project requirements.
• Inspect the installation of utility ducts, chambers, manholes, cable routes, sleeves, crossings, and associated infrastructure works.
• Monitor the quality of materials, workmanship, installation, alignment, levels, duct arrangements, and protection of dry utility networks.
• Verify line, level, alignment, duct routes, chamber locations, and other relevant construction requirements.

Quality and Compliance

• Review and verify Inspection Requests (IRs) submitted by the Contractor and ensure works are ready for inspection.
• Ensure construction works comply with approved shop drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Monitor the Contractor's compliance with approved method statements, ITPs, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Identify defective or non-compliant works and coordinate with the Engineer and Contractor for corrective actions.

Testing and Verification

• Witness and inspect testing activities as required for dry utility installations and associated works.

Coordination

• Coordinate with surveyors and other disciplines to ensure correct setting out, levels, alignment, and utility interfaces.
• Coordinate with electrical, telecom, roads, wet utilities, and other disciplines to ensure proper interface between services.
• Participate in site meetings and coordination activities as required.

Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of inspections, site activities, testing, and quality-related issues.
• Support the Engineer in monitoring construction progress and quality of the works.

Health, Safety and Environment

• Ensure health, safety, and environmental requirements are followed during site activities.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in dry utilities and infrastructure construction.
• Experience in inspecting dry utility installations and associated infrastructure works.
• UAE infrastructure and Authority experience is preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Good knowledge of electrical, telecom, street lighting, utility ducts, chambers, cable routes, and associated infrastructure works.
• Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, and inspection procedures.
• Experience working with Contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
