Role Overview
Infrastructure Engineer โ Wet Utilities at AECOM, based in Abu Dhabi, with responsibility for supervising and monitoring wet utility infrastructure construction works.

Role Purpose
To supervise and monitor the construction of wet utility infrastructure works, ensuring compliance with approved specifications, drawings, and project requirements while coordinating with contractors, authorities, and other disciplines to deliver quality infrastructure systems.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision and Monitoring
- Supervise and monitor the construction of wet utility infrastructure works, including stormwater drainage, sewerage, potable water, irrigation, and associated networks.
- Oversee construction activities including pipelines, manholes, catch basins, gullies, culverts, drainage structures, and related works.
- Monitor site progress, quality, workmanship, and compliance with approved project requirements.
- Monitor the Contractor's compliance with approved construction methodologies, ITPs, specifications, and quality requirements.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
- Ensure construction works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, and project requirements.
- Monitor testing and inspection of wet utility networks and ensure all required inspections and approvals are completed.
- Ensure that health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements are properly implemented on site.
Technical Review and Documentation
- Review Contractor submissions, shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, RFIs, inspection requests, and other technical documents.
- Review site conditions and proposed construction solutions and provide technical recommendations where required.
- Maintain proper records of site inspections, progress, technical issues, RFIs, and construction activities.
Coordination and Problem Resolution
- Coordinate with the Contractor, Authorities, stakeholders, and other disciplines to resolve technical and construction-related issues.
- Coordinate interfaces between wet utilities and other infrastructure elements, including roads, structures, electrical, telecom, landscaping, and other services.
- Identify technical issues, construction risks, and potential delays and coordinate with the project team to implement appropriate corrective actions.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Participate in site meetings, progress meetings, technical discussions, and coordination meetings with the Contractor and relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Proven experience in infrastructure and wet utilities construction.
- Good knowledge of stormwater, sewerage, potable water, irrigation networks, and associated infrastructure works.
- Experience in construction supervision, inspection, quality control, and coordination with Contractors.
- Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, and technical submissions.
- Experience working on major infrastructure projects is preferred.
- UAE infrastructure and Authority experience is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary project team and manage multiple site activities.
