Role Overview

Inflammatory Bowel Disease Specialized Nurse at Taiba Hospital. The role is based at the hospital's Nursing Services Department and focuses on delivering specialized care to patients with inflammatory bowel disease.

Role Purpose

Deliver individualized, physician-aligned care to IBD patients through specialized nursing assessment, biologic therapy management, patient education, and seamless coordination across the multidisciplinary care team to achieve optimal clinical outcomes and treatment adherence.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Assessment & Monitoring

• Assess patients and monitor disease activity to inform individualized care planning.
• Monitor biologic and immunosuppressant therapies per established protocol.
• Manage flare-ups and support patients throughout remission phases.

IBD Management

• Administer and monitor biologic therapies according to clinical guidelines.
• Develop individualized care plans aligned with physician direction.
• Ensure 100% of patients receive a physician-aligned care plan.
• Ensure 100% of biologic and immunosuppressant therapies are monitored per protocol.

Patient Education

• Educate patients on treatment options, self-management strategies, and lifestyle modifications.
• Ensure discharge plans reflect patient and caregiver needs in more than 90% of cases.

Care Coordination

• Partner with gastroenterologists and multidisciplinary teams to deliver seamless pre- and post-procedure care.
• Facilitate active coordination across all phases of patient care.

Documentation & Quality

• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation.
• Uphold quality, safety, and regulatory standards in all nursing practice.
• Contribute actively to program KPI tracking, audits, and quality initiatives.
• Demonstrate consistent quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree qualification per Kuwait Ministry of Health licensing requirements.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in gastroenterology, digestive health, or GIT nursing, as per MOH eligibility criteria.
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification as applicable.
