Hydraulic technician

Role Overview

Hydraulic System Technician at Matar Al Baqmi Holding Company. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hydraulic systems and related mechanical components on a variety of commercial trucks.

Role Purpose

Install, maintain, test, and repair hydraulic systems and equipment on commercial trucks including bulkers, tipper trucks, flatbeds, and other truck-mounted equipment to ensure safe and compliant operation.

Key Responsibilities

Installation

• Install hydraulic systems and equipment on new and existing trucks, including pumps, motors, PTOs, valves, cylinders, hoses, and hydraulic tanks for bulkers, hoopers, and other equipment.
• Perform hydraulic hoses and fittings in accordance with specifications.

Testing & Verification

• Test hydraulic systems for leaks, pressure levels, and proper operation after installation.

Maintenance & Inspection

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on bulkers and hoopers hydraulic systems.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area and tools.

Repair & Troubleshooting

• Repair or replace damaged hydraulic lines, fittings, cylinders, and valves.
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic and mechanical issues in truck-mounted equipment.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used on job cards.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.

Collaboration & Improvement

• Collaborate with other technicians, fabricators, and maintenance manager to meet deadlines.
• Provide feedback to improve system designs or installation processes.

Additional Duties

• Perform any other related tasks as required.

Qualifications & Experience

• Technical school diploma or technical/vocational training in hydraulics or mechanical systems preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in hydraulic system installation or similar mechanical technician role.
• Fabrication and repair experience is an asset but not required.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, fittings, and fluid power principles.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools used in hydraulic installation.
• Familiarity with PTOs, hydraulic pumps, motors, and other truck-mounted equipment.
• Ability to read technical diagrams and specifications.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
