Role Purpose

Install, service and repair temperature and air quality control systems throughout the hotel, maintaining all electrical and mechanical refrigeration equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with technical regulations and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Repair

• Repair and maintain all electrical and mechanical refrigeration systems, including freezers, fridges, ice makers, fan coil units and chillers.
• Maintain preventively all air-conditioning and refrigeration systems within the hotel.
• Overhaul air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment and systems.
• Carry out all works in accordance with country technical regulations and safety standards.

System Monitoring & Inspection

• Check performance of refrigeration systems and components.
• Verify all door closing systems on walk-in coolers and freezers, including door gaskets and latches.
• Check and maintain all defrosting systems and automation of ice makers.
• Check performance of air-conditioning and chill water systems.
• Check all refrigeration and oil levels and control of major repairs.
• Ensure routine cleaning of fan coil units and air-handling unit filters.

Collaboration & Communication

• Cooperate with all engineering colleagues in detection of failures of air-conditioning and refrigeration systems and function set-up.
• Cooperate and inform Engineering Storekeeper on purchase of parts.
• Work on maintenance requests from all departments.

Compliance & Environmental Control

• Maintain strict control on venting of CFCs to atmosphere.

Qualifications & Experience

• Appropriate documented training from a technical or vocational institute.
• One year operating experience in a hotel engineering department.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.
• VRF/VRV system experience is a plus.
